Alcons Rocks The First Outdoor Stage At USITT

Alcons Audio returns to the annual USITT Conference and Stage Expo in March, where the company will again have a dual presence, exhibiting on Booth 2417 and showcasing the LR18 compact mid-size line array at the event’s first ever Outdoor Stage.

Held in a different US city every year, the 58th annual USITT takes place from 14-17 March at the Broward County Convention Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Alcons pro-ribbon systems are making an increasing impact on the global theater industry, including on Broadway, in London’s West End and on tour in the US with the multi-award winning Hamilton: An American Musical.

On Booth 2417, the company will be showcasing a range of its pro-ribbon loudspeaker systems, including the LR18, the LR7 micro line array module, QR24 modular two-way column loudspeaker, RR12 point-source array module and VR8 compact versatile monitor.

These products all made a very positive impact on visitors to USITT 2017, held in St Louis, and the company is looking forward to them similarly impressing showgoers in Fort Lauderdale.

Alcons is also one of the USITT 2018 production partners for the Outdoor Stage, which will serve multiple purposes throughout the show. These will include the Opening Night Ceremonies, the always popular ‘Tech Olympics’ (weather permitting), a conference education space and a range of other events.

The Outdoor Stage PA will cover a large area of over 200 feet (61m) deep, so an Alcons LR18 system of 12 units per side was chosen. Outfill and frontfills will be covered by LR7s and VR8s respectively, with the subwoofer package comprising high output, dual 18” BF362s and single 21” carbon-fiber cone BQ211s.

The system is being provided by Alcons Pro-Ribbon Partners and 2016-2017 Dealer of the Year, AVL Solutions of Greenville, South Carolina. “This will be our first time at USITT and we are really excited to be bringing the Alcons system down, to let visitors really hear what it can do,” says Alan Simonton, CEO of AVL Solutions.
