Each system consists of a separate mid-high frequency (“MHF”) section, featuring one RBN401 pro-ribbon driver HF with non-vented 8” MF and a low frequency 15” (“LF”) section with low powercompression 4” voice-coil design.

The MHF section is specifically designed to act both as MHF section for the main/front system, as well as full-range surround system. This unique design results in a very uniform sound stage throughout the entire listening area.

The patented “Real-90” horizontal dispersion of the RBN401 extends the stereo-imaging to a larger number of seats in the auditorium and/or widens the “sweet-spot in near-field (studio) applications.

The very high peak power handling of the RBN401 pro-ribbon driver (800W) offers true digital-cinemaready performance, while enabling maximum screen compensations without any audible stress on the driver.
The purely resistive load of the pro-ribbon driver (completely flat impedance), caters for a very short signal path of the passive cross-over filter, with a minimum number of components.

Large (compression) horns are obsolete with this different transducer technology; This brings a great advantage in system mounting. With a depth of only 33.5cm/ 13.2in., a complete system can be installed in even the most shallow spaces. The system can both be flush-mounted as well as free-standing positioned. The recommended CB181sl subwoofer has a depth of only 25cm/10-in.

Extending the advantages of this system approach even further is “Signal Integrity Sensing™”; This circuitry within the ALC, together with the SIS™ pre-wiring in the CRMS, ensures complete cable and connector resistance compensation, raising the damping factor to a mere 10.000. This signifi- cantly increases response accuracy, regardless of cable length, with tight and accurate mid and bass response as result. Furthermore, SIS™ pre-wiring reduces distortion, both linear (uneven frequency response) and non-linear (InterModulationDistortion). The SIS™ circuit makes position of the amplifier none critical to ensure best performance.

The CRMS top cabinet is designed with a 10-degree sloped baffle, as “pre-tilt” for correct wall-mount surround position; When mounted on the CRMS sub as front channel system, an adjustable pan/tilt bracket enables precise projection and uniform coverage.

The combination of the outstanding sound reproduction quality and the digital dynamics capability, make the system the ideal choice for high-end mix/ screening rooms, post-production facilities, dubbing stages, high-end Home Theatres and quality-conscious cinemas with less than 100 seats or room depth less than 15m/45ft.
As a result of Alcons’ tight manufacturing standards, all system cabinets are within “matched pair” tolerance.
