Pro-ribbons floating in Iconic Arctic Cathedral

The distinctive triangular shape of Tromsdalen Church (Ishavskatedralen, or the Arctic Cathedral) is one of the most recognised landmarks in the Norwegian city of Tromsø. But despite its iconic status as a place of worship, tourist attraction and symbol of the city, for many years it suffered from poor sound for the services and many recitals and concerts it hosts.

But all that has now changed, thanks to the installation of an Alcons Audio LR7 pro-ribbon sound reinforcement system..

Hitting The High Notes Again In The Joan

Named after Australia’s famous coloratura soprano, Dame Joan Sutherland, the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith, New South Wales, is one of Sydney’s busiest performing arts complexes.

Opened in 1990, the venue has numerous performance spaces, and hosts a busy schedule of theatrical, musical and visual arts. In mid-2019, Production & Technical Manager Geoff Turner and Head of Audio Tim Anikin looked to replace the old point source sound system that had served the dramatic theatre (The Q Theatre) from the beginning, to overcome the sound issues inherent in the space..

Delivering Hope In Vegas

Attracting around 4000 worshippers each week, Hope Church in Las Vegas opened a new, 1750-seat auditorium worship center and sanctuary in December 2020. The technical infrastructure was designed and installed by church technology specialists Stark Raving Solutions (SRS), who installed an Alcons Audio pro-ribbon system in the main auditorium.

At Hope Church, growth has been so significant, that in 2019, the church moved to add a fourth weekly service. With that additional service, average weekly congregation numbers grew by about six-hundred souls, according to creative producer Micah Ogle..

Inderøy Kulturhus Acts Local, Thinks Global With Alcons

Despite its rural location, when the concert hall at the Inderøy Kulturhus complex in Norway needed a new sound reinforcement system, its managers were determined that local residents would enjoy the best possible experience. Opened in 1990, Inderøy Kulturhus was the first major cultural centre in the historic Innherred region of Norway.
