Alcons Gets Immersed At Gearfest UK

July, 2025

Showcasing production versions of M-series studio monitors in Dolby Atmos configuration

Following a two year stint at Gearfest, with the debut in 2023, Alcons Audio returns to Tileyard Studios for its third edition of the event, bringing production versions of its long-awaited M-series pro-ribbon reference monitor systems.

With two years of gathering information and presenting updates on prototypes and early proof-of-concept, the Dutch audio innovator travels to London with market-ready products. The presence of the company at these shows hasn’t gone unnoticed, receiving excellent feedback and many “best of show” comments. Also online, the Alcons monitors have been featured in many podcasts and videos.

The Alcons M-series is designed for applications demanding the highest level of audio fidelity—ranging from immersive sound production to critical listening environments in music, film and broadcast.

“With all the previewing and teasing we’ve done over the last two years, ……The time has come to let the kids fly the nest…”, Tom Back, co-founder of Alcons Audio.

With innovations like HempHorn™, ScoopVent™ and ActiveCoil™, besides the proprietary pro-ribbon transducer technology, the systems deliver exceptional linearity, dynamic headroom, and depth-of-field, redefining what is possible in critical reference monitoring.

Teaming-up with Pro-Ribbon Partner Mill Road Technology, Alcons will be demonstrating the new M-series in a full 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos configuration, as well as demonstrating its exceptional stereo performance. All channels are driven by the recently introduced 8-channel Director6 amplified loudspeaker controller.

The experience in S-Demo Room will be optimized with Trinnov processing and PSI AVAA active bass traps, provided by Emerging.

The presentation at Gearfest is the nearfield version of Alcons’ award-winning Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience, as featured in many residential and pro-audio demonstrations.

“With all the previewing and teasing we’ve done over the last two years, we are now preparing the first systems for production”, says Tom Back, co-founder of Alcons Audio. “The time has come to let the kids fly the nest. What better place and time than Gearfest, where it all began 2 years ago?”.

Uniquely utilizing the exact same high-resolution proprietary transducer, amplification and processing technologies from recording and mastering through to playback and large-scale delivery, the Alcons systems offer one single, scalable cross-application audio reference: One reference; One experience.

Alcons systems are to be found in high-end post-production studios around the world, such as STMPD studios Amsterdam, Blazing Griffin studios Glasgow, Bleat Post Production London, Levels Audio studios Hollywood, Eikon Studios London and Los Angeles, Technicolor London, Factory Studios London, Westside Studios Amsterdam, Walt Disney, Deluxe Digital, Universal Pictures, YouTube, a.o.

Gearfest UK takes place on Saturday July 19, from 10am to 6pm at Tileyard Studios London.  More info here.
