The CR4 is a 3-way sound system, designed to meet all requirements of current and future (Digital) Cinema sound formats.
Featuring the patented Alcons pro-ribbon driver technology, with triple RBN401 pro-ribbon HF driver array, the CR4 is designed for applications where high output with maximum quality cinema sound reproduction is needed. It is recommended for 300-500 seat theatres.
By implementing line-source technology throughout the entire system (an industry first), the normal (-6dB step) reduction of SPL coverage from front to rear is reduced; this “proximity” effect dramatically improves the cinema experience for the audience further away from the screen. The precise projection also prevents unwanted ceiling reflections.
The CR4 HF section has a 2400W peak power input, offering a 1:16 dynamic range with up to 90% less distortion from 1kHz. to beyond 20kHz. The patented Real-90 horizontal dispersion widens the stereo experience for far left and right seated audience.
The CR4 is available with bi-amp filtering for economical powering or tri-amp filtering for maximum system output.
The SignalIntegritySensing™ pre-wiring ensures complete (long!) cable/connector compensation between CR4 and ALC, significantly increasing response accuracy and further reducing distortion. The (industry’s most) shallow enclosure design of only 35cm/13,7” provides for flexible mounting, claiming only a minimum of space behind the screen.
For full system performance, it is strongly recommend using the CR4 in combination with an ALC amplified loudspeaker controller. Driven by the ALC, the CR4 delivers maximum sound quality with increased headroom under dedicated equalisation and inaudible (power and excursion) protection.
