From intimate acoustic performances to high-energy live productions; from crystal-clear speech reinforcement to powerful full-range music playback; the GR20 system fully immerses audiences in the experience. Vocals, instruments and effects are reproduced with exceptional intelligibility, maximum dynamics and remarkably low distortion.
The GR20 represents the latest addition to the Alcons G-Series; a versatile family of systems developed for sound reinforcement in both portable and permanent installation applications.
The scalable system extends from compact clubs and hospitality venues to houses of worship, theatres, corporate events and larger performance spaces where high fidelity, high output and precise projection control are required.
The system showcases the latest developments in Alcons pro-ribbon transducer technology, acoustical engineering, amplification and processing; combining studio-reference accuracy with the power, coverage consistency and musical impact required for demanding live sound reinforcement applications.
The heart of the GR20 system is the RBN620 pro-ribbon transducer, designed for uncompromising clarity, dynamics and projection control in professional live sound reinforcement applications. By implementing Alcons Audio multiple-patented pro-ribbon technology for mid and high frequencies, an exceptionally fast impulse response with ultra-low distortion is achieved.
This allows the RBN620 to reproduce the original signal with extreme accuracy, without adding coloration or distortion—input equals output, only louder. Speech, music and effects are delivered with remarkable transparency and precision, maintaining natural tonal balance even at high sound pressure levels.
For the first time, it becomes possible to extend a true high-resolution transducer approach from critical listening environments into large-scale live sound reinforcement, ensuring the same level of detail, coherence and fidelity across any application size and any type of program material.

The Alcons proprietary mid and high frequency technology in the GR20 offers a 1:1 non-compressed sound reproduction and exceptional clarity with up to 90% less distortion than any conventional mid/high transducer, due to the light weight diaphragm and lack of a compression chamber; This results in a perfect intelligibility without any listening fatigue. Because of the direct-drive working principle, the pro-ribbon driver does not have a "compression threshold" resulting in a linear response at any sound pressure level.
The custom-designed high-output 10” woofers feature Active Coil™ technology for extremely low-distortion LF reproduction, a perfect match with the MHF pro-ribbon technology.
The patented 80° × 50° constant-directivity dispersion of the GR20 provides highly controlled and predictable coverage up to the highest frequencies, ensuring consistent tonal balance throughout the listening area.
The horizontal directivity of the RBN mid-high frequency drivers, offers a coherent horizontal pattern control with seamless coverage; This widens the “stereo sweet spot” significantly, regardless of the audience seating.
The vertically symmetrical “clamshell” configuration with two custom-designed 10-inch Neodymium mid-bass woofers extends the dispersion control down to the lower octaves.
This combination enables the GR20 to maintain sonic consistency and clarity across the entire operating bandwidth, even at elevated SPL levels, making the system particularly suited for applications where precise coverage control, minimal off-axis coloration and maximum speech and music intelligibility are essential.
Furthermore, The constant directivity also guarantees a consistent reflected diffuse-field; Resulting in a very coherent sound response, both direct and reflected, dramatically enhancing the natural hearing experience.
The 6" voice-coil of the RBN602 pro-ribbon driver brings a remarkable dynamic headroom reserve, with a unique 1:15 RMS-to-peak power handling ratio. It features a peak power handling of 1.250W (200 msec), creating a virtually infinite system headroom from 1kHz up.
This huge head room capacity enables compensations without any audible stress on the high-frequency performance of the system, while maintaining the full sound dynamics at even the highest sound pressure levels

Versatile system with multiple configuration options
The frequency response of the GR20 system can be extended through the addition of the GB181 low-frequency module. In larger configurations, the low-frequency foundation of the system can be scaled by deploying multiple GB181 units, effectively extending bass output, headroom and control in line with system size and venue requirements.
The GB181 is a dedicated low-frequency extension designed to provide deep, controlled and highly accurate bass reproduction in both portable and installed live sound reinforcement applications. When used in multiples, it forms a scalable LF system that increases projection control and improves low-frequency definition, while significantly reducing the influence of room acoustics.
The GB181 is available in two versions: the standard GB181 for touring applications, and the GB181i installation version for permanent systems, allowing seamless integration in both mobile and fixed sound reinforcement environments.
As integral part of the Alcons eco system, the GR20 and GB181 is to be driven by the ALC amplified loudspeaker controller;
Powered and controlled by the ALC, the Alcons systems deliver a natural sound quality with maximum output and utmost operation reliability, through the integrated VHIR™ processing, 192kHz AES3 digital inputs and audiophile amplifier stages.
The Signal Integrity Sensing™ pre-wiring of the GR20 and GB181 ensures complete cable/connector compensation between the speakers and SIS-featured ALC; This offers a 1:1, undistorted natural sound reproduction, regardless of cable length and amplifier impedance load.
