Voice of the people getting heard with Alcons Line-arrays in Kassel, Germany

The war in Ukraine holds the world in its grip and many people feel the need to demonstrate their opinion on the war. On March 4, 11, and 18, peace demonstrations were held at the Friedrichplatz in Kassel and Alcons Pro-Ribbons helped to get the message across.

Nico Gilfert of Auditiv GmbH was responsible for the organization and sound design. He had some challenges to overcome for this open-air event.  It is a public place, with a size of approx. 340×112 meters (1115×367 feet),  so there was a need for fast construction and dismantling. And nobody knew how big the audience would be, so to be sure, Nico went for a coverage of 120 meters.

The first event was done with nine double 6.5” LR14 ultra-compact line-array modules per side and three LR7 6.5” micro pro-ribbon line-array systems per side were used as nearfills. In the second event, Nico used six LR18 double 8” compact line-array modules per side and the same at nearfield.

“With all the Alcons pro-ribbon systems, I had a good coverage and voice intelligibility at the event, without requiring large EQ adjustments. Alcons Audio systems are unmatched in speech intelligibility over long distances which is why we have chosen to utilize their systems for many years. Auditiv GmbH is a member of the Pro-Ribbon network in Germany they plan the sound design for many more festivals and events this summer, with Alcons!
