Immersive Experience Drives Successful CEDIA 2026

Alcons Audio concluded CEDIA Expo 2026 in Denver with packed demonstrations, strong dealer interest and two Best of CEDIA awards. Presented by AVS Forum and eCoustics, the awards recognised the Alcons Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience in Sound Room 9.

The 13.8.6-channel system featured three CRMSQ pro-ribbon line-source-based LCR systems, CRMSC-SRHV loudspeakers for the surround, width and height channels, and eight CRMS LFE18 subwoofers. Driven by Alcons ALC amplified loudspeaker controllers, the system demonstrated the clarity, dynamics and precise spatial detail of pro-ribbon technology across every channel. From the opening day through the final listening sessions, the room attracted a continuous flow of visitors. In-depth conversations covered system applications, potential projects and new dealer opportunities, reflecting strong interest in Alcons’ residential cinema solutions.

At its heart was Alcons’ “One Reference – One Experience” philosophy: applying the same core pro-ribbon technology from content creation through final reproduction to preserve the original artistic intent.

CEDIA also marked the first public presentation of the IRP24 ultra-shallow in-wall pro-ribbon loudspeaker, expanding Alcons’ residential portfolio with further possibilities for discreet architectural integration.

AVS Forum report from CEDIA Expo 2026:

The award-winning demonstration featured a full 13.1.6 channel immersive system, highlighting Alcons’ ability to deliver reference-grade, lossless sound reproduction for private cinema.

At the core were three CRMSQ pro-ribbon line-source columns for the LCR screen channels, each comprising two CRMSQ modules and one CRMSQB low-frequency module.

The system was supported by sixteen CRMSC-SRHV compact pro-ribbon surrounds, ensuring seamless integration across base- (10) and height-layer (6) channels.

For low-frequency extension, eight CRMS LFE18 subwoofers, combined with Double Bass Array processing, provided uniform coverage and response below 10Hz across all seats. (6 in the front, 2 in the back).

Control and amplification came from 30 channels of Alcons Sentinel four-channel and Director eight-channel amplified loudspeaker controllers. Together with VHIR™ phase processing, they maintain a completely lossless digital AES3 signal path from source to speaker drive, ensuring minimal distortion and maximum fidelity.

As with every Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience, the company is collaborating with leading technology partners to reproduce dialogue, music and effects with maximum realism, precisely as intended by the filmmakers.

Immersive processing was provided by the Trinnov Altitude CI processor, featuring advanced Bass WaveForming functionality for optimized LFE performance.

Christie Digital provided the visual centrepiece with its Griffyn 4K35-RGB projector, delivering DCI-compliant projection with integrated Variable Dynamic Range and 36,500 lumens of RGB pure-laser output.

This image was further refined by the Lumagen for precision tone mapping.

Long-time partner DreamScreen presented its acoustically transparent X1 projection screen allowing the Alcons screen channels to perform with maximum transparency.

The entire design was engineered by Poes Acoustics, bringing the audio and visual technologies together as one integrated private cinema experience.
