The Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience Goes To 11.8.6
Alcons Audio will present its award-winning Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience at CEDIA Expo 2026, promising the company’s most advanced residential cinema showcase to date.
Taking place at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, CEDIA Expo brings together the international residential systems integration industry. During the exhibition days from September 2–4, visitors can experience the clarity, power and accuracy of Alcons’ proprietary pro-ribbon technology in the dedicated, purpose-built Sound Room SR9.
Alcons will demonstrate a complete 11.8.6-channel system, highlighting its ability to deliver reference-grade, lossless immersive sound reproduction for high-performance private cinemas. CEDIA will also see the first presentation of an important new addition to Alcons’ residential portfolio, with the introduction of the new IRP24 ultra-shallow in-wall pro-ribbon loudspeaker.
At the heart of the system are three CRMSQ pro-ribbon line-source arrays for the left, centre and right screen channels. Each channel comprises two CRMSQ modules and one CRMSQB low-frequency extension module. This modular configuration combines high output and precise directivity with the low distortion, unrestricted dynamics and exceptional intelligibility for which Alcons systems are known.
Fourteen CRMSC-SRHV compact pro-ribbon reference surrounds reproduce the base and height layers. Using the same core mid/high-frequency transducer technology as the screen channels, they ensure seamless tonal matching and a coherent immersive sound field.
Eight Alcons CRMS-LFE18 large-format 18-inch reference subwoofers provide low-frequency reproduction. Combined with Trinnov’s advanced Double Bass Array processing, they deliver controlled extension to below 10Hz and exceptionally consistent performance across every seating position. Even the most demanding soundtrack effects are reproduced with physical impact, accuracy and definition.
Alcons Sentinel10 and Director6 amplified loudspeaker controllers drive and control the complete system. Audiophile-grade amplification, dedicated loudspeaker processing and Signal Integrity Sensing™ ensure optimum performance, maximum reliability and full signal-path control.
As with every Alcons Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience, the company is collaborating with leading technology partners to reproduce dialogue, music and effects with maximum realism, precisely as intended by the filmmakers. This year’s partners are Christie, Trinnov, Lumagen, Kaleidescape, DreamScreen and Poes Acoustics.
A Trinnov Altitude32 processor provides immersive audio processing and Double Bass Array control. Digital AES3 signal transport between the processor and Alcons amplified loudspeaker controllers minimises conversion stages and preserves signal integrity.
Christie provides the visual centrepiece with its Griffyn 4K35-RGB pure-laser projector. Native 4K resolution and 36,500 lumens of RGB pure-laser output deliver the brightness, colour fidelity and detail needed to complement the reference-quality audio. A Kaleidescape movie system and Lumagen video processing complete the premium content and image chain.
Long-time partner DreamScreen will present its X1 projection screen, supporting the Christie projector’s performance while minimising its acoustic influence and allowing the Alcons screen channels to perform with maximum transparency.
The entire presentation is designed and optimised by Poes Acoustics, bringing the audio and visual technologies together as one integrated private cinema experience.
Visitors can experience the Alcons Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience from September 2–4 in Sound Room SR9 at the Colorado Convention Center.
